Who can attend?
Summer Surge is for students in grades 6-12. More specifically, this includes students who are rising 6th graders (having completed 5th grade the school year immediately before Summer Surge) or a recent high school graduate (having completed the 12th grade the semester before Summer Surge).
Individual teenagers and adults need to register through their local church. Summer Surge does not allow individuals to check in separately without a group.
Adult workers must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school. Workers must be approved by their church leadership and Summer Surge staff, and they must complete a worker registration form.
If you have further questions about eligibility, please contact us.
Can I volunteer at camp?
You can volunteer if you meet the following guidelines: Adult workers must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school. Camp workers must be approved by their church leadership as well as the Summer Surge staff. Volunteers must complete a worker registration form and are subject to a background check.
What about safety and security?
Safety is a top priority at Summer Surge. All of our staff and adult leaders are background-checked and trained to supervise students throughout the entire week. We maintain a strong adult-to-student ratio, and all activities, lodging, and transportation are overseen with care to ensure a safe, secure environment for every camper.
What’s the deposit and refund policy?
In the event of a cancellation, the initial $50 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. If a camper or worker is a “no show” on the 1st day of Summer Surge, no refund will be made. The only exception to this rule is if a camper or worker is unable to attend because of a legitimate family or medical emergency. We will refund the Summer Surge cost minus the $50 non-refundable deposit on a case-by-case basis.
